Children's Books about Diversity and Race

Living in Brooklyn and being a part of a diverse school community such as Crayon Power is a good foundation to ensure early introduction to different races and cultures. This is key when it comes to building empathy, and raising anti-racist kids. But it's not enough. Intentional conversations are critical. These books help give your kids the tools to understand different races and they also open the doors for the consistent, crucial conversations we all need to be having.
Here are a few book lists I think are useful to help to expand your libraries. (Bookshop.org is a great portal to support independent bookstores over Amazon.)
